چکیده

Background. The World Wide Web (WWW) is increasingly being used as a delivery platform for biomedical documents. Methods to implement data integrity policies are needed to ensure the correctness of information contained in these documents. Such policies are intended to ensure that data remain consistent with its source and to allow the identification of errors, duplications, omissions, and intentional alterations. Secure methods for authentication and validation of documents are particularly important. Digital signatures can be used to accomplish these tasks, and have been successfully applied in electronic mail and traditional networked computing environments. It is important to demonstrate the practical application of digital signatures in WWWbased medical document delivery systems.

Analyzing registry, log files, and prefetch files in finding digital evidence in graphic design applications

The products of graphic design applications leave behind traces of digital information which can be used during a digital forensic investigation in cases where counterfeit documents have been created. This paper analyzes the digital forensics involved in the creation of counterfeit documents. This is achieved by first recognizing the digital forensic artifacts left behind from the use of graphi...

Adaptive Hypermedia Systems Featuring Information Customization Using Constraint Satisfaction Methods

We present an Information Customization framework, which offers a unique hybrid of Adaptive Hypermedia and Constraint Satisfaction methods. IC is being modelled as a constraint satisfaction problem. Information customization involves the generation of personalized information that (a) comprises multiple topic-specific documents deemed relevant to the user-model; (b) satisfies factual, contextua...

Efficient Cluster Representation in Similar Document Search

Similar document search is the problem of retrieving documents that resemble a given document. In this paper, we describe a cluster-based retrieval scheme that approximates the classic nearest neighbor search scheme, by identifying the clusters that are closest to the input document and restricting attention to these clusters only. Cluster signatures play an important role in the effectiveness ...

Semi-metric Behavior in Document Networks and its Application to Recommendation Systems

Recommendation systems for different Document Networks (DN) such as the World Wide Web (WWW), Digital Libraries, or Scientific Databases, often make use of distance functions extracted from relationships among documents and between documents and semantic tags. For instance, documents in the WWW are related via a hyperlink network, while documents in bibliographic databases are related by citati...

Document-centric XML workflows with fragment digital signatures

The use of digital document management and processing is increasing. Traditional workflows of paper forms are being replaced by electronic workflows of digital documents. These workflows often require multiple signatures to be added to the documents for authorization and/or integrity. We describe examples of digital workflows that illustrate problems with digital signatures: i.e. the use of dig...
